Ok. I've heard a lot of talk recently about fava beans so I finally found some at our International market. Searching the Internet I wasn't really able to come up with a recipe that I thought my husband would eat without giving me a fight so I made up my own. We both loved it. The fava beans add a rich buttery flavor and are a very rich source of vitamins and fiber. I hope you will give it a try and let me know what your think too.

Pinto beans must also be sorted, washed and soaked preferably over night. Then cooked in water and salt (to taste) on the stove until tender then drained.

Once the dry beans have been prepared all beans can be put into a crock pot with other ingredients and cooked for several hours until ready to serve.
