I don't like just navy beans, so here you go...hope you enjoy!

Ingredients For beans and ham, my way

    bag navy beans
  • 1
    bag 15 beans (not cajun)
  • 3-4
    onions, small ones, chopped
  • 2
    boxes of chicken broth
  • ham, chopped, and ham bone if you have one

How To Make beans and ham, my way

    Soak navy beans, take out bad ones. Drain. Put in stockpot. Cut up onions and add. Soak the 15 beans, take out bad ones. Drain. Add to stockpot. Cover with water.

    Then put on low heat for about 2 hours. Let cool. I drained off water, because it was a little grey...from cooking.

    Once drained, I added chicken broth to cover. Put back on low heat, when beans are almost done, as in ready to eat, add the ham. Heat through and serve.

    I like mine with cornbread on the side, but that's up to you...
