Ok now this recipe is a little different. The prep time depends on whether or not you begin soaking your beans in the morning or over night.

Ingredients For 10 bean & ham soup

  • 1/3 c
    pinto beans
  • 1/3 c
    great northern beans
  • 1/3 c
    red beans
  • 1/8 c
    kidney beans
  • 1/8 c
    white beans
  • 2 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1 lg
    onion chopped
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1/2 c
    red wine {optional}
  • 1/4 c
    garbanzo beans
  • 1/3 c
    blackeye peas
  • 1/3 c
    black beans
  • 1/3 c
    lentils
  • 2
    ham hock, smoked
  • 1 can
    hunts fire roasted tomatoes
  • 1 clove
    garlic chopped

How To Make 10 bean & ham soup

    Cover the beans with water to an inch past the beans & 2 tbsp of salt. Let them soak
  • 2
    After soaking, drain then add 2 qts of water & ham hocks, simmer 3 hours
  • 3
    Add onion, chili powder, tomatoes, garlic & red wine, simmer another hour
