I found this unusual recipe and pic at Brauista.com and the picture alone captivated me. Doesn't it look yummy enough to sink your teeth into, right through the screen? I can't wait to make this, maybe with a nice hot bowl of tomato bisque.

Ingredients For drunken grilled cheese

  • 1
    egg
  • 3/4 c
    beer
  • 1/3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 6 slice
    bacon, cooked crisp
  • 4 slice
    hearty bread
  • 4 slice
    cheese of your choice

How To Make drunken grilled cheese

    In a small bowl, combine the egg and beer. Beat in the flour and pepper. Whip with a wire whisk until well mixed and smooth.

    In a large skillet, melt one Tbsp. butter over medium-high heat.
  • 3
    Gently dip one side of two slices of bread in the batter and place in the melted butter. Top with one slice of cheese, three slices of bacon, and another slice of cheese. Dip one side of the other two slices of bread in the batter and lay on top of the sandwiches in the pan.

    Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Add more butter as needed.
