I made this with my mother in law the first few years my husband and I was married, and when I make it that is the fond memory I have.. so delicious and buttery it almost tastes like toffee

Ingredients For old fashion carmel corn

  • 8 c
    popped corn
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/3 c
    butter
  • 3 Tbsp
    light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make old fashion carmel corn

    In a large pot, mix brown sugar, butter and corn syrup, cook to a hard rolling boil to (aprox 4 Min)on medium heat remove from heat and add vanilla and soda. gently pour over the popped corn stirring gently

    you may add nuts if you desire, bake at 300 degrees for 15 min.. remove from oven, stir for 5 minutes. bake again for 5 min longer,

    gently put it on wax paper til it is cooled
