slim style beef sticks

I found this recipe in the 90's. It used 1 tbsp. tender quick. I use salt and a food processor instead. I have also use this spice blend in hamburgers.

Ingredients For slim style beef sticks

  • 2 lb
    90 per cent groung beef
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    mccormic gill mates barbacue flavor
  • 1/2 tsp
    mustard powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    liquid smoke
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 c
    water

How To Make slim style beef sticks

  • 1
    Mix all together in food processor.
  • 2
    Wrap and put in the refrigerator overnight. Flavors will blend.
  • 3
    Put through a jerky press with a round tip about 6 inches long on parchment paper. (I use my cookie press with a small round tip.)

    Place in 180 degree oven to dry for about 5 hours. Store in refrigerator.
