Christmas Toffee, I love to make candy and this one is a favorite and very easy as well

Ingredients For saltine toffee bars

  • 1 1/2
    sleeves of saltines
  • 1 c
    butter
  • 1 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 2 c
    semi sweet chocolate chips
  • toppings: chopped pecans, crumbled butterfinger bars, crushed candy canes, etc

How To Make saltine toffee bars

    Preheat oven to 400°
  • 2
    Line a cookie sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray
  • 3
    Line the cookie sheet with the Saltines
  • 4
    Place Butter and Brown Sugar in a sauce pan and bring to a boil
  • 5
    Boil for 3 minutes stirring occasionally
  • 6
    Immediately pour the butter and brown sugar mixture evenly over the saltines
  • 7
    Place in the oven and cook for 6 minutes
  • 8
    Remove and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top.

    Let sit for 5 minutes until the chocolate melts
  • 10
    Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the saltines

    Top with your favorite topping

    Let cool completely in the refrigerator Break apart and enjoy!
