Ingredients For puffed wheat squares

1/2 cunsalted butter, and more to grease the dish

1 cbrown sugar, packed

1/2 ccorn syrup or golden syrup
-
1/2 ccocoa powder, or to taste
-
1/4 tspground himalayan sea salt
-
1 tsppure vanilla extract
-
8 cpuffed wheat cereal
How To Make puffed wheat squares

1Generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and set aside.

2In a large pot over medium heat, add butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, cocoa powder and salt. Stir until everything is well combined. When it starts simmering, let it bubble for 2 minutes.

3Remove from the heat and add vanilla; stir well. Add the cereal and stir until evenly coated.

4Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Press down evenly using a spatula or place parchment paper on top; remove the paper and discard it.

5Let it sit at room temperature until completely cool, about 1 ½ to 2 hours. Cut into squares and serve.
