From a friend - we used to snack on this during the holidays while playing Scrabble together. She had 4 boys, I have 2 and they gobbled this stuff up like no tomorrow!

Ingredients For pretzel mix

  • PRETZEL CEREAL NUT MIX
  • 6 c
    mini pretzels
  • 6 c
    corn chex or crispix
  • 1 c
    roasted peanuts
  • 1 c
    original cheerios
  • 1 c
    flake cereal, total, corn flakes, bran flakes, fiber one flakes, etc.
  • COATING
  • 1 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda

How To Make pretzel mix

    In an extra large bowl mix together all the cereals, pretzels and peanuts.

    Combine the sugar, butter and syrup in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 3 - 3 1/2 minutes until it begins to boil. Microwave 4 minutes on 40% power. Stir in the vanilla and soda.

    Pour carefully on top of the cereal/pretzel/nut mix and stir it all up until evenly coated. Place the bowl in the microwave and microwave on high for about 4 - 4 1/2 minutes until it becomes toasted a light brown. Stir, and then spread on waxed paper to cool. When totally cool, break apart into pieces.
