My family and all my friends love these cookies. I can't make enough for them. It took a few times to get them right. I can truly say they are the best oatmeal raisin cookies I ever made.

    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    crisco shortening
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    pecans
  • 3 c
    old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 c
    raisens
  • MAKES 3 DOZEN COOKIES

    PREHEAT OVEN TO 350*F. LINE BAKING SHEETS WITH PARCHMENT PAPER

    MIX BUTTER,GRANULATED SUGAR,BROWN SUGAR,VANILLA,AND EGGS IN LARGE BOWL. BEAT WITH AN ELECTRIC MIXER ON HIGH SPEED UNTIL FLUFFY. COMBINE FLOUR,BAKING POWDER,BAKING SODA AND SALT IN A MEDIUM BOWL; BEAT INTO BUTTER AT MEDIUM SPEED. STIR IN ROLLED OATS,RAISINS AND NUTS UNTIL BLENDED.

    DROP DOUGH BY HEAPING TABLESPOONFULS ABOUT 3 INCHES APART ON PREPARED BAKING SHEETS. BAKE UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN ABOUT 12 TO 13 MINUTES.
