2 cold fashioned oatmeal

1/2 cwheat germ

2 Tbspdark brown sugar

1/4 tspsalt

1/3 cchopped walnuts or pecans

1/3 csweetened flake coconut

1/3 cdark or golden raisins, or craisins, or dried cherries

1/4 cmaple syrup

3 Tbspcanola oil
-
1 Tbspwater

1/2 tspcinnamon
How To Make master granola recipe

1Adjust oven rack to middle position, and heat oven to 275 degrees. Coat a 9x13 aluminum pan with cooking spray, set aside.

2Mix oats, wheat germ, sugar, salt, chopped nuts, and coconut in a bowl.

3In a heavy saucepan over low heat bring syrup, oil, water and cinnamon to a simmer. Drizzle over oat mix, and stir to combine. Pour mixture into prepared pan. Working a handful at a time, squeeze cereal to form small clumps, about the size of a nickel.

4Bake for 30 minutes. Stir in dried fruit. Continue to bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes longer. Let cool. Granola can be stored in an airtight container up to 2 weeks at room temperature.
