Ingredients For marshmellows

  • 3/4 c
    boiling water
  • 2 c
    white sugar
  • 2 pkg
    knox gelatin (2 envelopes)
  • 1/2 c
    cold water
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt

How To Make marshmellows

  • 1
    Boil water and sugar until it threads 6 to 12 inches, never stir once it starts to boil. While boiling get ready 2 evnvelopes Knox gelatin. Put in bowl, pour in 1/2 cup cold water, when syrup threads pour over gelatin add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Let set until luke warm then beat at high speed until it gets dull. Put in buttered 9 x 9 in" pan, cut in squares with wet knife. You can roll in ground walnuts or powdered sugar or eat plain. Enjoy
