These are so easy and moist. Usually have the ingredients in the cupboard.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Not overly sweet, chewy, and moist these are really good! The sweetness comes from the applesauce, honey and raisins. Great for a quick light snack. Toasting the oats with the butter on the stove top just adds to the great flavor. Yum!

Ingredients For applesauce energy bars

  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1 c
    raisins
  • 1/4 c
    applesauce
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 c
    oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 1/3 c
    honey

How To Make applesauce energy bars

  • 1
    Stir raisins, applesauce and vanilla; set aside.

    Melt butter in pan over medium heat and add oatmeal and nuts stirring constantly; 3-4 minutes.

    Stir in cinnamon and salt; cook 1 minute.

    Pour mixture from pan into a bowl.

    Stir eggs and honey into raisin mixture.

    Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Spread into 8x8 buttered pan and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
