I've made these for a variety of parties and they always go over well. Warning ... there is a slight delay in the heat, so it surprises people. Switch the nuts to your favorite kind. Sometimes nuts stay sticky, but they are always delicious ... Enjoy!

Ingredients For sweet & spicy nuts

1/2 tspsalt

1/4 tspground cinnamon

1/4 tspground cumin

1/4 tspcayenne pepper

1/4 tspchili powder
-
1/4 tspchipotle chili powder

1/8 tspground nutmeg
-
3 Tbspunsalted butter
-
1 cwhole almonds
-
1 cpecan halves
-
1/4 cpacked brown sugar
-
1 Tbspwater
-
1 1/2 tspworcestershire sauce
-
dashlouisiana-style hot sauce (if desired)
How To Make sweet & spicy nuts

1In a small bowl, combine salt and spices, then set aside.

2In a large frying pan, melt butter. Add nuts; cook over medium heat until nuts are toasted (about 4-5 minutes)

3Sprinkle nuts with spice mixture. Add brown sugar, water and worcestershire sauce and hot sauce (if desired).

4Stir over heat for 1-2 minutes or until sugar is completely melted. Spread nuts on foil to cool. Store in an airtight container.
