Found this in the Missouri.life book.Thought I would give it a try. I have made it 4 times now. Noe I will be makeing them for all the youngsters and us for Christmas.. It is so simple...

Ingredients For sweet pecans...

  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 Tbsp
    pecans,ground.
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp
    bourbon may use rum
  • 1
    egg white,room temp
  • pinch of cream of tartar
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 c
    pecans, halved

How To Make sweet pecans...

  • 1
    Pre-heat oven to 350...Place brown suger,ground pecans and cornstarch in a bowl and mix well. Add bourbon or rum and blend till smooth.

    Beat egg white with cream of tartar and salt.untill it holds stiff peaks... stirin 1/3 of egg whites into sugar mixture and blend well...Add remaining egg whites (It will become more liquid)...Add pecan halves,stirring gently to coat nuts...

    Butter a baking sheet and arrange nuts (Top up.)on buttered baking sheet.(Keep them separated batter will puff up.).. Bake for 12 minutes. Then let cool befor serving
