Orange Cream with a hint of spice to make it special. Came up with this recipe when I wanted to make something special for my sister for her birthday. :) Easy, tasty treat, great for gifting. We like to save the extra crumbs for sprinkling on ice cream (if we don't eat it all first.)

Ingredients For orange cream candied pecans

  • 1
    egg white
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp
    orange extract
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    ground coriander seed
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cardamom
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    pecans
  • sprinkle
    salt

How To Make orange cream candied pecans

  • 1
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  • 2
Beat egg white & extracts until frothy and foamy. Beat in spices and sugar. Stir in pecans.
  • 3
Spread mixture on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt. Bake 25-30 minutes. About halfway through baking time, stir with fork, and add more salt, to taste (the egg should be cooked enough to taste at this point, if you are careful not to burn yourself.) The nuts are done once they have developed a nice toasted flavor. Cool. They will have a crisp, delightful flavored coating.
