My daughter took home economics this year. I told her it wouldn't hurt her..So, she brings home from school this plate of granola's and says " Mom you have to try these". Well, I will be the first to admit, I DO NOT LIKE GRANOLA! Especially the hard, break a tooth kind..LOL..so I tried a bite, needless to say one bite led to another..these were surprisingly very good. I told her to bring home the recipe, and here it is. It's chewy, not hard,and I think delicious. When she makes it again, I will provide a pic.

Ingredients For dear daughter's granola bars

1/2 cbutter

1 tspvanilla

2 Tbspcorn syrup or honey

1/4 cbrown sugar

2 tspcinnamon
-
1egg,beaten
-
2 crolled oats
-
1/2 ccrushed shredded wheat

1/4 cwhole wheat flour
-
1/2 cchopped almonds
-
2/3 cshredded coconut
-
1/2 cgolden raisins
-
1apple, pared and diced
How To Make dear daughter's granola bars

1In large saucepan, melt butter. Add vanilla, corn syrup, brown sugar, and cinnamon; mix well. Add beaten egg, stir until thoroughly blended. Stir in remaining ingredients.

2Spread in a 9x9 greased pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, just until lightly golden around edges. Cut into bars.
