3.5 lbpotatos, red, cut crosswise into 1/8 inches

6 Tbspbutter, melted

1Position racks in upper and lower third of oven and preheat to 500.

2Lightly grease 2 baking sheets and arrange potato slices in single layer on prepared baking sheets.

3Brush generously with butter.

4Bake 7 minutes.

5Switch pan positions and continue baking until potatoes are crisp and browned around edges, about 7 to 9 minutes.

6Transfer to heated platter.

7Sprinkle with salt and freshly ground pepper and serve immediately.
