- 1 bay leaf (I omitted this, but if you like bay leaves, go for it)
- Salt & ground black pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 t. baking powder
- 1 1/2 t. white sugar
- 3/4 t. salt
- 1 1/2 T. butter
- 3/4 cup milk
