This is one of my favorites. My Mom used to make this for the Holidays. To increase in servings and 1/2 cup of vinegar and 1/2 cup sugar per every two cans of beans

Ingredients For trudy's sweet-n-sour green beans

  • 6 can
    cut creen beans
  • 1 lb
    bacon
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    vinegar

How To Make trudy's sweet-n-sour green beans

    Drain green beans.
  • 2
    Fry bacon until crisp. Remove from pan and drain on paper towels, let cool and crumble.

    Turn heat to medium. Add to bacon drippings 1 1/2 cups of vinegar and 1 1/2 cups of sugar. Cook until sugar dissolves. Add greens beans and cover. Cook until beans start to wrinkle and have a brownish green color.Remove from stove and drain beans. Place beans in a serving dish and bacon, toss and serve.
