Ingredients For swiss style sauerkraut

  • 1.3 lb
    sauerkraut
  • 1
    onion
  • 1 Tbsp
    oil or butter
  • salt or spices

How To Make swiss style sauerkraut

    Put one tablespoon of oil or butter in a pot
  • 2
    Cut the onion into small pieces and put it in the pot too
  • 3
    Add the sauerkraut

    Add some salt or spices Heat up, then reduce heat and stew for about 60 to 90 minutes, move the sauerkraut from time to time
  • 5
    Add some water if necessary.

    If you wish to serve potatoes and/or meat with the sauerkraut, cook it in the same pot.
