Ingredients For steamed asparagus with buttered almonds

  • 2 lb
    fresh asparagus trimmed
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1 md
    shallot minced
  • 2 clove
    garlic minced
  • 3 Tbsp
    fresh parsley chopped
  • juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 c
    sliced almonds
  • salt and pepper

How To Make steamed asparagus with buttered almonds

    Add 2 tbsp of the butter to a skillet. Add the shallots and garlic and cook about 5 minutes. Add the remaining butter, parsley, lemon juice and zest and stir. Add the almonds and let the butter and almonds brown.

    While cooking almonds let the asparagus steam until crisp tender. Add the asparagus to the almond butter mixture. Taste and season with salt and pepper.

    Serve immediately
