This is a recipe given to me by a friend of one of my sons.It is a very old recipe handed down from a mother to daughter on down the line till it came to her mother.Everyone really likes these pickles,I hope you will too.

Ingredients For squash pickles

12 mdsquash, fresh

2 lgonion

2 lgbell peppers

2 cvinegar

3 csugar

1 tsppickling spice

1 Tbspsalt
How To Make squash pickles

1Slice squash and onions in thin slices,chop bell peppers in medium chunks.Pour in dish large enough to hold all the vegetables.Sprinkle salt over vegetables.Let set an hour or until covered with liquid.Drain off liquid.Combine sugar and vinegar and pour over vegetables,stir until sugar is dissolved.Put pickling spice in a new knee hi and tie the top.Put in the pan of vegetables and boil five minutes.Pack into clean canning jars.Let cool before putting away.
