Ingredients For squash à la canadienne

1 lgacorn squash

1 Tbspolive oil, as needed

3 Tbspbutter
-
1 Tbspgood quality maple syrup, or more to taste

freshly ground black pepper, to taste (i always use mixed peppercorns)
How To Make squash à la canadienne

1Preheat oven at 350ºF. Cut squash in half and remove seeds. Brush inside and edges with olive oil. Place halves on a cookie sheet, flesh down. Cook for about 1 hour; poke with a fork to see if it’s cooked

2Carefully, spoon flesh into a bowl. Add butter, maple syrup and pepper; mix well. For two squashes, double the amount of butter and syrup.
