I found this recipe in the November, 1963 issue of Family Circle magazine. It is an easy, little-bit-different and very tasty way to dress up plain ol' lima beans.

Ingredients For savory limas

4 Tbspbutter (1/2 stick)

2 pkgfrozen lima beans (10 oz. each)

1 tspsugar

1 tspsalt
-
1/4 tspblack pepper
-
1/2 cwater
-
1/4 cchopped parsley

2 tsplemon juice
How To Make savory limas

1Melt butter in a medium-size heavy saucepan; add frozen lima beans, sugar, salt and pepper; add water and stir, cover.

2Cook slowly for 5 minutes; stir with a fork to mix with seasonings; cover again. Cook 15 minutes longer, or until tender. Add a little more water, if necessary.

3Sprinkle parsley and lemon juice over; toss lightly to mix.
