Lynn & Kirsten Rowell - Red cabbage may be something only Danes have learned to like. But after initial surprise you will all just enjoy. Goes well with pork roast. The Danes love it, especially at Christmas time.

Ingredients For red cabbage

  • 1 md
    red cabbage
  • 1/2 c
    vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    shortening, rounded
  • 1/4 c
    sugar

How To Make red cabbage

  • 1
    Shred cabbage fine.
  • 2
    Put shortening and other ingredients in pot. Cook until cabbage is tender.
  • 3
    Watch and stir adding a little pepper and other spices you enjoy, water also to keep it moistened.
