Mama called these "bread & butter pickles". I call em Quick Pickles cuz they never last long & are quick to make.

Ingredients For quick pickles

1 1/4 lbcucumbers,peeled(or not) & cut into 1/4in. slices

1/2 tspsalt

1 ceach cider & white vinegar

1 cbrown sugar, light

1 1/2 cslivered onions

2garlic cloves,slivered
-
1 tspdill seed

1 tspmustard seed
How To Make quick pickles

1Place cucumber slices in a colander set in the sink.Sprinkle with salt and stir to make sure all slices are covered.Let stand 20 min.

2Meanwhile,combine the rest of ingredients in a saucepan.Bring to a boil,reduce heat and simmer for 10 min.

3Rinse,drain and transfer cucumbers to a heatproof bowl.Pour hot liquid over the cucumbers;stir to combine.Put in fridge at least 10 min. to bring to room temp. before trying to eat.

4May be covered and refrigerated for up to 10 days.If they last that long.
