Really???? Have you priced pre-made Pico in the store? Don't pay that price! Make your own so much cheaper and better! YOU control how much heat goes into it. All you need is a white onion, some jalapeños, Roma tomatoes and a lime. (Don't forget the chips) Cents on the dollar. A good rule of thumb, Equal parts. Jalapeño, Onion, Tomatoes. Eyeball the ingredients, they should be around equal in size. Add lime juice, salt and cilantro to taste. It doesn't get any better than this. BTW I love, love, love my Vidalia Onion Chopper for this.

Ingredients For pico de gallo

  • 1 lg
    white onion, diced fine
  • 1 lg
    jalapeño, seeded and diced fine
  • 3 lg
    roma tomatoes, seeded and diced fine
  • 1/2 c
    cilantro, chopped
  • 1
    lime, juiced
  • 1 Tbsp
    kosher salt

How To Make pico de gallo

  • 1
    Chop and assemble all the ingredients together. (Look, all the ingredients are about equal in amounts.)

    Mix together the onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, cilantro and salt.

    Squeeze in the juice of one lime.
  • 4
    Mix together well, cover and let sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour before dipping in.

    Serve with anything. Great on Fish Tacos, with tostada chips, beans, tacos....let your imagination run wild.
