I used to go through the bother of making glazed carrots only to be frustrated at the time, money, and energy spent that usually did not yield consistent results. Then an epiphany! So I share my simple fast and delicious solution with all of you.

Ingredients For no-brainer glazed carrots

1 pkgpeeled and cleaned carrots (8 oz)

1 Tbsporange marmalade (sugar or sugar-free type)

1 tspgrated ginger or teaspoon dry ginger (optional)

1/4 tspcayenne pepper (not hot, but you may omit or reduce)

1/4 tspsalt
-
2 tspbutter
-
2 Tbspwater
How To Make no-brainer glazed carrots
Test Kitchen Tips
We simmered for 20 minutes and the carrots were not too soft or hard. Also, if you do not like spicy, the cayenne can be omitted or cut back to 1/8 tsp.

1In a small to medium pot with a lid place butter, salt, cayenne pepper, carrots, ginger, orange marmalade, and 2 tablespoons of water.

2Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer on low heat; stir.

3Cover and check for the desired doneness. Some like a firmly cooked carrot, some like a softer one.

4Test with a fork to obtain your preference. Monitor water level and add more to ensure no burning.

5Finish and leave on the stove with the lid on the pot while finishing up the main entry. May require a sight reheat, but there you are!

6Alternate ingredient to orange marmalade is apricot jam.
