I've been making these beans for so many years that I don't remember who gave me the original recipe. I've tweaked it a bit over time and have shared it with family and friends who requested it. They're the top requested dish for a potluck, BBQ, or picnic and go well with ham, burgers or hotdogs, fried chicken, etc. I don't know the number of servings, but there's plenty for a group or potluck. Sooo Yummmmy!

Ingredients For my world famous baked beans

  • 1
    chopped onion, sauteed with
  • 1/2 lb
    thick sliced peppered bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 1/2 lb
    lean ground beef, browned
  • ~~
    in a bowl, add and mix well:
  • 1 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    catsup
  • 2 Tbsp
    hickory smoke
  • 2 can
    (16-oz ) b & m original baked beans with liquid.
  • 1 can
    (16-oz) red kidney beans with liquid
  • 1 can
    (16-oz.) butter beans, drained

How To Make my world famous baked beans

    Saute first 3 ingredients together, until bacon is cooked and flavors blended.

    In a bowl, mix the next 3 ingredients.

    In a bowl, mix the beans together. Now add everything together and bake in 350 oven, uncovered, for 1 hour.
