Ingredients For mushroom sweet and sour

  • 2 clove
    garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 lg
    onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 lg
    tomato (diced and mashed)
  • 1 can
    button mushroom
  • 2 lg
    red chillies (sliced)
  • 1 pinch
    tumeric powder
  • 1 tsp
    chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper powder
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 - 2 Tbsp
    chilli sauce
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    lime juice
  • 2 - 3 Tbsp
    oil
  • INGREDIENTS FOR DRESSING / SAUCE (OPTIONAL)
  • 2 - 3 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 clove
    garlic (chopped)
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1 pinch
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper powder
  • 1/8 tsp
    lime juice

How To Make mushroom sweet and sour

  • 1
    In a pan, heat oil and chopped garlic over a medium fire. P.S. I heat oil and garlic together for the release of the wonderful fragrant of garlic.

    Saute onion, red chillies and curry leaves for 2 minutes or less.

    Add mushrooms and saute. Now add turmeric powder and chilli powder and mix well. Add mashed tomato and mix well. P.S. I love to use mashed tomato for the rich texture and flavour it gives.

    Add soy sauce, chilli sauce and lime juice and mix well. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

    For the sauce (optional): In a small bowl, whisk soy sauce, salt, pepper, sugar and lime juice. Add chopped garlic (optional) to the sauce.

    Pour the sauce over the cooked mushroom and mix well. Mushroom sweet and sour is ready to be served.
