mel's creamed cabbage
My sister-in-law was born and raised in Germany and serves a variation of Creamed Cabbage with potato dumplings. I've tweaked the recipe and made some changes that make this a great side or sauce. For extra flavor, serve with crumbled bacon.

1 cheavy cream

How To Make mel's creamed cabbage

1Boil chopped cabbage in salted water until soft. Drain and set aside.

2Melt butter in frying pan and add one chopped onion. Cook on medium heat until translucent.

3Add cooked cabbage and onions to food processor with heavy cream. Pulse to break it up and then blend until smooth and creamy.

4Add salt and pepper to taste. Mixture should be smooth and not grainy. Serve with dumplings, noodles, and meat of your choice.
