There is no question that I am invited to summer gatherings "to bring the baked beans." Guests will clamor to find out the ingredients; but rarely do I reveal using cloves.

Ingredients For leslie's baked beans

1 lgonion, chopped

3 clovegarlic, minced

1 lbground sausage,

1 lbbacon

2 capple cider vinegar

1 boxbrown sugar

1 canpineapple, crushed with juice

1 ca-1 sauce, thick and spicy
-
1/2 choney or maple syrup

1 tspcinnamon
-
1 tspground clove
-
1 canlima beans
-
1 canbutter beans

1 cannavy beans

1 canblack beans

1 canpork & beans
How To Make leslie's baked beans

1In a large pot, brown the sausage and bacon. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. (I do not drain the drippings.)

2Add vinegar, crushed pineapple, and seasonings (clove, cinnamon). Sometimes I shake some basil & tarragon into the mixture, too.

3Add pineapple, brown sugar, A-1 and honey or maple syrup. Stir.

4Empty mixture into a crock pot and cook on low for several hours; or into a baking dish and bake @ 350 degrees until thick and bubbly.

5Hint: Too thick? Add orange juice, apple juice or vinegar. Too thin? Cook longer or add more beans.

6Granish with fresh parsley or fresh basil Serve in heated crock pot, if possible.
