This is the best tasting asparagus I have ever had. The asparagus is softened but still crisp. Bright green and a very tasty lemony flavor.

Ingredients For lemony asparagus steamed in a paper bag

  • 1 lb
    fresh asparagus tough ends trimmed
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • 1/2
    lemon sliced thinly
  • 1
    bay leaf

How To Make lemony asparagus steamed in a paper bag

  • 1
    Preheat oven 350 degrees. Throw the asparagus in a large lunch paper bag. Sprinkle the asparagus with salt.

    Throw in the lemon slices and bay leaf. Close the bag folding it over serveral times. Drizzle the olive oil over the outside of the bag so it don't burn.

    Place on a baking sheet and place in oven for 20 minutes.

    Remove from oven and carefully rip open the bag and drop the asparagus onto a plate. Drizzle with more olive oil and salt if desired.

    Discard the lemon and bay leaf
