Ingredients For layered cabbage casserole

1 mdcabbage, shredded

1 cancream of celery soup or cream of mushroom soup

2sleeves ritz crackers, crushed

1 - 1 1/2 csharp cheddar cheese, grated

1 canfrench fried onion rings

1 smonion, minced (optional)

salt and pepper to taste
How To Make layered cabbage casserole

1Chop cabbage and saute in butter until tender. Season cabbage with salt and pepper.

2Drain cabbage - reserving 1/2 cup cooking liquid. Place a layer of cabbage, in greased casserole dish, followed by a layer of cracker crumbs, then a layer of grated cheese.

3Repeat layers. Mix soup with cabbage both and mix well. Pour soup mixture over casserole. Top with any remaining cracker crumbs and french-fried onion rings.

4Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly and hot.
