Baked beans are a staple at any and all cook outs here in NJ. I am not a baked bean fan, but I made these once and now I am always asked to bring these to a covered dish or a cookout. Everyone loves the pineapple & ham that is included. I hope you enjoy them as much as they have been enjoyed by my friends and family.

  • 1
#10 can of your favorite pork & beans
  • 1 md
    onion, diced
  • 1/2
    green pepper, diced
  • 1/2 lb
    ham, chopped or shaved
  • 1/2 -3/4 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1
20 ounce can of pineapple tid-bits or chunks, drained
  • 3/4 c
    ketchup

How To Make hawaiian baked beans

  • 1
Drain the excess liquid from the pork & beans
  • 2
Combine all the ingredients together, stirring well until combined
  • 3
Place in crock pot / slow cooker and cook on HIGH for at least 5 hours, stirring occasionally. After about three hours, tilt the lid on the slow cooker so steam can escape allowing the beans to thicken. The longer they cook in the crock pot / slow cooker, the thicker they get.
