This recipe is from the Colonial Park United Methodist Church cookbook in Memphis, TN. There's no date on the cookbook, but I remember my mother being the editor for it when I was in high school, so late 60's. This was submitted by Mabel Morriss.

1 cangreen english peas

1 cancream of mushroom soup

1/4 cchopped onion

1/4 cchopped celery
-
1 cansliced water chestnuts

1/4 cbutter, melted

1 ccracker crumbs
How To Make green pea casserole

1Saute onion an celery in a small amount of oil until tender.

2Stir in mushroom soup

3Mix the peas and water chestnuts together in a casserole dish.

4Top with the mushroom soup mixture.

5Toss the cracker crumbs with butter and sprinkle over the mixture.

6Bake 20 minutes at 350
