    water, or as needed
  • 1 Tbsp
    coarse sea salt
  • 2 c
    green beans, ends trimmed

    In a pot of water, add coarse sea salt and bring it to a boil.

    Add the prepared green beans and blanch for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the thickness. If using as pickles, quickly blanch for 46 to 60 seconds.

    Transfer immediately to an ice water bath to stop the cooking process and let them cool completely, about 5 minutes.

    Drain green beans into a colander and proceed with your recipe.
