2 Tbspolive oil

1 mdsweet onion, peeled and chopped

2 clovegarlic, peeled and minced

1/2 cunsalted butter, divided

2 Tbspall purpose flour

1 ptheavy cream
-
1/2 cblue cheese, crumbled

4 can(14 oz) french cut or regular cut green beans, thoroughly drained

1 ccanned french fried onions, chopped

1 cpanko bread crumbs

salt and pepper, to taste
How To Make green bean casserole with blue cheese

1Preheat oven to 400F. Coat a large baking dish with cooking spray.

2Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Add onions and cook over medium heat until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic, cook one minute more.

3Add 1/4 cup butter to pan, melt and stir into onions. Sprinkle flour over butter mixture, stir and cook flour for another 1-2 minutes.

4Slowly stir in heavy cream. Bring to a simmer, add blue cheese and turn off heat. Stir until blue cheese is incorporated. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

5Add green beans to skilled and mix until coated. Pour into prepared baking dish.

6In a small bowl, melt remaining butter in microwave. Add chopped french fried onions and breadcrumbs, mix thoroughly. Sprinkle mixture over casserole.

7Bake for 10-15 minutes or until hot and bubbly and topping is nicely browned.
