This is the way that I fry most fresh vegetables to include green beans, zucchini, cucumbers, etc. Even my kids that do not eat squash will eat these.

Ingredients For fried squash

6yellow squash
-
1/2 cflour
-
1/2 ccorn meal

1 tspsalt

1/2 cbuttermilk
How To Make fried squash

1Wash the squash and slice them into 1/4 inch slices. Cover with ice water for 30 minutes.

2Drain. Pour buttermilk over squash and soak for 30 minutes.

3Combine meal, flour, and salt in another bowl.

4Add squash slices a few at a time until coated.

5Fry squash in hot grease, one layer at a time, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
