Ingredients For fried squash

  • 3/4 c
    corn oil for frying
  • 5 md
    squash, fresh
  • 1 c
    yellow cornmeal (in my opinion, it makes a difference)
  • 4 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • salt and pepper

How To Make fried squash

    wash and cut the squash in about 1/2 inch slices
  • 2
    mix all dry ingredients
  • 3
    dredge squash in cornmeal mixture and place in hot oil about 400 degrees,in a single layer, until golden brown

    i use a cast iron skillet but my aunts all use electric skillets but long as it is fried golden, its gonna be good.
