Ingredients For french onion casserole

1/4 cbutter

2 lgonions, cut into thin slices

1loaf french bread

3ribs celery, sliced thin

1 Tbspflour
-
1quart beef broth
-
1/4 cstrong brwed coffee

3 cshredded swiss cheese

1/4 cfrench's fried onions
How To Make french onion casserole

1In lg pot, melt butter. Add onions to pot. Reduce heat to medium-low and stirring constantly, cook about 30 mins, or until caramelized.

2Break bread into 1" cubes, set aside. Add celery to onions. Cook until celery is soft. Add flour, cook 5 mins. Heat oven to 350.Stir the broth and coffee into pot.

3Cook 10 mins. Pour mix into a 9" x 13" casserole dish. Top w/ bread cubes. Press the bread into the soup. Cover w/ cheese. Sprinkle w/ french's fried onions. Bake 15 mins. Ladle into bowls.
