Every day I am picking tiny red tomatoes that I planted in a container on my outside deck! I was inspired to put together this nice little recipe for you to enjoy! Naturally you could use regular size tomatoes. This recipe has passed the taste test with my neighbors, Try it you will like it! Nancy 9/5/13

Ingredients For fire & ice .............. (a wee salad)

  • 1-2 md
    cucumbers
  • 1-2 md
    tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 tsp
    balsamic vinegar
  • 1-1/2 tsp
    basil
  • 1 md
    sweet sliced onion........ if you want
  • 2 tsp
    sugar

How To Make fire & ice .............. (a wee salad)

    Peel, and score cucumbers with a fork. Slice...put in a bowl

    Wash and slice tomatoes. Put in the bowl with the cucumbers.

    Combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, basil and sugar. Mix well. Gently combine dressing with the tomatoes and cucumbers. Put in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Keep cold, let flavors blend. When ready to serve, FIRE & ICE display it in a nice dish for family or guests.
