1/2 ccider vinegar

1 tspmixed pickling spice, tied in cheese cloth
How To Make easy pickled beets

1Combine sugar, vinegar, cloves, cinnamon stick, mixed picklingspice, and reserved juice in pan. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves; add beets and brings to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and chill thoroughly in refrigerator before serving.
