Ingredients For delicious glazed carrots

  • 4 c
    peeled and sliced carrots
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 4 Tbsp
    dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper

How To Make delicious glazed carrots

    Bring the carrots, butter, brown sugar, water, and orange juice to a boil in heavy large skillet. Reduce the heat to medium, cover, and simmer 8 to 10 minutes.

    Uncover, stir in the orange zest and season with salt and pepper.

    Cook until the carrots are fork tender and the juices have reduced to a glossy glaze, about 5 to 7 minutes.

    You can use 4 cups of baby carrots in place of the sliced carrots.

    Oven Cooking: Place the carrots in a baking dish. Use 1/3 cup of water, then add remaining ingredients, except orange zest.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Sprinkle with orange zest.

    Microwave Cooking Place the carrots in a 1-1/2 qt microwave safe dish with 2 tbsp. water and the remaining ingredients, except orange zest. Cover and microwave on high for 8 to 10 minutes or until crisp tender. Sprinkle with orange zest.
