date night bleu velvet salad

I wanted to make a date dressing and came up with this one....which is also a great marinade I experimented with. This salad it the spot with additional bleu cheese, and date topping.

3 Tbspsesame oil

1 tspsoy sauce

1/4 crice vinegar

1 Tbspminced garlic

2 Tbsphoney

1/4 tspcoarse ground dijon mustard

1 pinchsalt

1 pinchpepper
- SALAD TOPPING
-
6 mdpitted dates, inely chopped

1/2 cchopped walnuts
-
1 Tbsphoney
-
1 tspbrown sugar

1/8 tspsalt
- SALAD INGREDIENTS

7 cmixed salad greens, such as a spring mix
-
1/2 pthalved yellow cherub tomatoes

4 ozcrumbled bleu cheese
How To Make date night bleu velvet salad

1In a small food processor or chopper,place dressing ingredients: 6 dates, sesame oil, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic ,honey, coarse mustard, salt and pepper. Blend together until smooth. Place mixture in the fridge while the rest of the salad is prepared.

2Place topping ingredients in a medium skillet and stir together over medium high heat until toasted and sticky. Transfer to a cool cookie sheet and spread out to cool.

3Divide salad greens between two large salad plates or 4 small ones. Top with tomatoes. Divide bleu cheese crumbled over the top of each salad. Top each with cooled topping mixture. Drizzle salads with sesame date vinaigrette.
