Ingredients For creole -style okra, corn and tomatoes

  • 3 slice
    bacon
  • 1 pkg
    16-oz. pkg frozen sliced okra
  • 1 can
    14.5 oz. can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 c
    frozen onion seasoning mix
  • 1 c
    frozen corn kernels
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 tsp
    creole seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • hot cooked rice (optional)

How To Make creole -style okra, corn and tomatoes

    Cook bacon in a dutch oven until crisp; remove to paper towels to drain and then crumble and set aside (reserve drippings).

    Saute okra, tomatoes, onion, corn, pepper and creole seasoning over medium high heat, stirring occasionally for approx. 5 minutes. Add water and reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

    Top with crumbled bacon and serve over rice, if desired.
