I was hungry for my mother- in- law's Creamy Peas. But she made a huge bowl for the family, and of course she had no recipe. I just wanted to make a small amount for Hubby and myself. So here's what I came up with! Tastes just like hers!

Ingredients For creamy peas for two

  • 1 1/2 c
    frozen peas, cooked
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    flour
  • 3/4 c
    half and half
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion powder

How To Make creamy peas for two

  • Peas cooking.

    Prepare the frozen peas as directed on the package. Drain and set aside, cover to keep warm.

    In another small saucepan, melt the butter. Add the tablespoon of flour and whisk until smooth. Slowly pour in the half and half and whisk together. Add salt, pepper, sugar, and onion powder. Whisk again.
  • White sauce has thickened.

    Cook on low heat until the white sauce has thickened. Whisking continuously.
  • Poured sauce over the peas.

    Pour the sauce over the peas and stir to coat the peas.

    Place in a bowl and serve immediately. Enjoy!
