This dressing was my beloved grandmothers. It is the very best I have ever had, I hope you enjoy it, as I pass it along with love. I give measurements, but this has to be shaken and tasted until just right.

Ingredients For creamy apple cranberry slaw

  • 1
    head cabbage-shredded or bagged cabbage mix
  • 3
    apples sliced in matchsticks, or shredded (soak in lemon water to keep crisp)
  • 1/2 c
    dried cranberries
  • 1 can
    eagle or borden brand evaporated milk
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    white vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    hellmans mayonaise
  • 1
    small onion grated. (secret ingredient-must be shredded fine)
  • freshly cracked black pepper to taste

How To Make creamy apple cranberry slaw

    In a msaon jar or clean jelly jar only-must shake dressing. Combine: Mayo, evaporated milk, sugar, vinegar and cracked black pepper. Shake and taste until desired, sweet,creamy tangy balance is achieved. I usually adjust sugar or vinegar.

    Pour over remaining ingredients-cabbage, apples, cranberries and grated onion- in large bowl.

    Let set at least an hour before serving.
