My husband's grandmother made these delicious onions as a side dish for all the family gatherings. Every time I make these I think of her and the wonderful holiday meals she made for the family.

Ingredients For creamed onions

214 ounce packages frozen pearl onions

4 Tbspbutter

3 Tbspall purpose flour

1/4 tspsalt

1/8 tsppepper

2 1/2 cwhole milk (or half and half)

4 ozshredded muenster cheese
How To Make creamed onions

1Cook onions according to directions on package. Drain well.

2Meanwhile, in a medium size saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Mix well and cook over medium high heat for 2 minutes.

3Add the milk, stirring constantly, and cook until thick and bubbly.

4Add the cheese and stir to melt. Add the onions, mix well and cook an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
